SAT The SAT Reasoning Test is a standardized college admissions test which measures a student's critical thinking skills, more specifically their ability to analyze and solve problems. The test consists of three main sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. The Collegeboard website will provide you many more details on the SAT, PSAT and Advanced Placement programs. PSAT/NMSQT- It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives students a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools. The ACT test is a standardized college admissions test which consists of five curriculum-based tests: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. These tests are standardized multiple-choice tests based on the major areas of high school and postsecondary instructional programs. The ACT Test offers an optional Writing Test which students may choose to take for college admission purposes. Check the official ACT.org website for a test calendar, registration information and preparation resources. The ACT website will provide you many more details on the ACT, EXPLORE, PLAN and programs. EXPLORE- practice version of the ACT college admissions exam. Eighth grade students will complete this exam at DHS. The career interest inventory section of the EXPLORE is used for career and post-secondary planning.
